Cold War in Southern Africa

The Cold War in Southern Africa was a regional theater of global East–West rivalry in which the United States, Soviet Union, Cuba, and their allies backed opposing sides in liberation struggles, civil wars, and border conflicts across countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, and South Africa from the 1960s through the late 1980s.
